5.1.3.1: PREPARATORY ONLINE SEMINARS
It is highly recommended that teachers or organisations sending VET students abroad put two preparatory seminars together and carry these out online, or at best when feasible, in presence, so that the VET students get to know each other and can better support each other once abroad.
EXERCISE: If you are a VET Student willing to go abroad, please write down for yourself all topics you would need some preparatory training about before you leave.
Then check the below materials and see whether you still have open questions, address them to your teacher or to the organisation beforehand.
5.1.3.2: KEY TOPICS FOR PREPARATORY ONLINE SEMINARS
We
suggest here following key topics for each seminar:
ONLINE TRAINING I
- Welcome
- Information on data protection and technical possibilities during the stay
- Expectations, fears and questions of the participants
- Formalities, such as ESF Participant Questionnaire and EU Participant Contracts
- Team building
- Information on the project and the stays abroad
- Intercultural sensitisation
- Information and impulses for language preparation
- Tasks until the second seminar
- Feedback and evaluation
ONLINE TRAINING II
- Current information about the stay abroad and the journey
- Clarification of open questions
- Intercultural sensitisation - repetition / cultural glasses / self-perception and perception of others, cultural standards, case studies
- Internship abroad - out of the comfort zone
- Language preparation
- Discussing cooperation during the stay abroad
- Information on Europass Mobility and EU Participant Report
- Presentation of the papers
- Review/ Feedback
